What an elegant hotel this is, sitting in a quiet tree-lined avenue in the East Cliff area of Bournemouth. Jonathan and Simon, your hosts, have worked tirelessly creating this beautiful hotel, lovingly restoring it true to its Edwardian origins. The hotel's furnishings and decor are simply immaculate throughout, with bright pretty en-suite bedrooms that are beautifully presented and well equipped with generous hospitality trays, TV, clock radio, hair dryer, trouser press, complimentary mineral water,
luxury toiletries and towels. For the less able guest there are two ground floor en-suite bedrooms.  The whole place has an elegant timeless country house atmosphere which makes staying with Jonathan and Simon so very special. Do tell them that we recommended them to you.

This is a great little hotel and the friendly enthusiastic new owners Shannon and Steve have put so much energy into making their place unique: immaculately clean bright and comfortable bedrooms fully equipped with well stocked hospitality tray, digital TV, wireless Internet access, and many rooms have a fridge. Ground floor rooms are provided for the less able traveller. The Chines has a super little garden and a smashing indoor swimming pool. A pathway leads from the hotel through Alum Chine woodland down to a sandy beach - it's about a 10 minute gentle stroll but well worth the time and effort for the stunning views of the ocean across to the Isle of Wight, the Purbecks & the famous Old Harry Rocks. Shannon and Steve work hard and goodness, doesn't it just show.

It was love at first sight for Adele and Mel when they saw Wood Lodge and for just over 2 years it has been a labour of love and wow, what a super place this is. The whole of the hotel is immaculate, from the beautiful bedrooms to the elegant dining room, and the gardens are a profusion of blooms with a heady scent during the summer months. The manicured lawns with fountains and objets d'art make the perfect retreat for a glass of something cold or just to soak up the sun. The real emphasis here, apart from the obvious comforts, is the very warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere that flows throughout Wood Lodge provided by Adele and Mel.

The Commodore Hotel sits on the cliff tops at Southbourne near to the cliff lifts and Fisherman's Walk and gazes out across the sea providing spectacular views of Poole Bay, Swanage, Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight.
